The app
Flashback.watch records your screen and the audio devices you choose only on your own PC. The replay is kept in memory and is only written to disk when you save a clip. Clips, settings and logs stay on your computer. The app has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and it never uploads your recordings.
The app connects to the internet only to renew a Premium license key: it sends the key to our license server, which checks with Stripe that your subscription is still active.
The app's window is drawn with Microsoft Edge WebView2, a component of Windows that is covered by Microsoft's privacy statement.
Premium purchases
Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. When you subscribe, our license server stores a license ID linked to your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and the email address you gave at checkout, so it can issue and renew your license key and open Stripe's billing portal for you.
Contacting us
We talk with users on X. Messages you send us there are handled by X under X's privacy policy; we use them only to answer you.
This website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data (like IP addresses) to deliver and protect it. The site itself uses no cookies, analytics or ad trackers.
